An online review we just found about us...

We just found this review online:

"I love Divine moving and storage, they are as good as it gets.

I never thought I could say that about a moving day or a moving company, however they where outstanding. They made my life so much easier on my moving day's. This is my 3rd move with them, so I wanted to take a few minutes to share my experience in case any one is about to do a move and doesn't have a great mover.
- They were right on time (actually 10 min's early).
- They were super careful with everything, yet in such an efficient way (it would have driven me crazy if they were slack). Not one thing got damaged despite a lot of furniture and valuable artwork being moved from my 4 bedroom apt to their storage facility then back to my new apt.
- The foreman's attitude was this great "can do " attitude, eg I made the mistake of forgetting to tell them when I got the quote that I had a storage room down stairs and bikes in the bike room as well to move....anyway I remembered on moving day just after the truck was packed and left...I rang the company....the truck comes straight back loads up the items from downstairs, couldn't been nicer about it and on top of it stuck to there original quote.
- Which by the way was also the most reasonable out of the 3 companies I got to quote (Moishes and Ozzie)

So I would highly recommend getting a quote and hiring Divine moving."

Buying an Apartment in New York City?

The 4 Most Important Things To Consider When Buying an Apartment in New York City

New York City offers some of the most diverse housing options available; which means that as a buyer, you have literally thousands of options. To make it easier to navigate this extensive (and sometimes overwhelming) market, we have compiled the 4 most important things to consider when buying an apartment in New York City.

1. Budget. This is the most obvious factor when considering buying an apartment in New York City (and maybe the most important). The price of an apartment varies depending on a number of variables -size, building, location, type, features, age, etc – so it’s crucial that you establish your budget first.

Most buyers will obtain a mortgage to finance the purchase, so it’s important you become “pre-qualified” with an active New York City mortgage lender.

2. Neighborhoods. There are dozens of neighborhoods in Manhattan, each with its own personality and feel. Location is crucial when choosing an apartment – do you want to be close to work? Close to your children’s school? Near Central Park? Next to great restaurants?

Consider these things carefully, and establish what your priorities are. The city is relatively small and the public transit system is remarkably efficient, but you don’t want to live 5 blocks from the Subway Station when being close to public transportation is important to you. There are many neighborhood guides that will help you choose- here is a good neighborhood guide.

3. Apartment Features/Size. New York City is known for having apartment buildings with great features and many options. Do you need a two or three bedroom? Want a large living room? Big kitchen? Space for a maid or home office? Are views important to you?

Keep in mind that while features are important, there is a price tag attached to each one. Make a list of what you need and what you want, and prioritize them based on how much you are willing to pay for each one.

4. Building Type and Amenities. Last but certainly not least, you have to decide what type of building you would like to purchase. Do you want a co-op or a condo? (Read the differences between the two here).

Now determine what features are important to you – doorman, concierge, health club, in-house dry cleaning, pre-war, pet policy, pool spa, etc. This can be a daunting task, but there are a sites that can help with that too - CityRealty.com has profiled virtually every condo, co-op and apartment in the city, and you can search all of them for free here.

So if you’re planning on buying an apartment in New York City remember these 4 important steps and it will make navigating the difficult New York City real estate market that much easier.

You can browse 1000’s of apartment buildings, read ratings, pros and cons and see available listings at .CityRealty.com.

Online reviews of Divine Moving and Storage

The below review was posted on Yelp.com:

I had to move a studio worth of apartment from the Upper East Side to the Theater district. I called about 6 places, Divine came in the cheapest at $430, which was about $30 cheaper than 2nd place. I believe Divine operates only in metro NYC, which is why they get to be a little cheaper.

Of course, I picked a heavy traffic time of day, and also a day where 1 one of 3 elevators of my building was down, so they couldn't "lock" it for the moving team, and I was moving to a 5th floor walk up... but despite all the inconveniences, I was impressed with the speed that they moved at, and they kept their cool about it the whole time.

A few bonus points I'd like to point out.

Bonus #1: Some of the other companies called me every other day after I asked for a price quote. Divine didn't. Thank you for not being annoying.

Bonus #2: Divine charges by the hour, and we went 10 or 15 minutes into the next 'hour', but the foreman generously said not to worry about spilling over, and stuck to the 3-hour price mark that it was originally quoted at. Pure win.

Bonus #3: When packing my furniture, they wrapped it all in soft blankets. (Their blankets probably cost more than my $20 night stand from ikea, but whatever.) They also disassembled and reassembled my bed frame with ease. I asked about how they knew how my bed worked, and they said they've seen pretty much every bed frame out there. Kudos to being good at your job.

Bonus #4: They gave me a ride to my new apartment, while some of the guys rode in the back of the truck with my furniture, and we made some chit chat along the way. They're really nice and honest guys all around.

Highly recommended! If these things don't warrant 5-stars, I don't know what does. Thank you Divine for a great moving experience.

Side note: Book an off-peak day if you can, it'll save you around $50 (peak days are +/- 7 days or so of the top of each month, and off peak days are the others.)

NYC Best Movers

David- I just wanted to thank you for Divine's service for my move
yesterday and pay high compliments to the crew. They were great - very
courteous, polite and hardworking. They did a great job and wasted no
time. They were there 15 minutes early and went right to work. Between
your last minute availibility and their service I will definately use
Divine for my next move and will refer you guys to others.

Thanks again,
Brian Cleary

"best attitude, so nice, so professional"

I’ve been meaning to write this email but only just got the internet hooked up today, wish that had gone a smoothly as our move.

First let me say, I didn’t have to do a thing...your guys were amazing. We moved out of a new building in Hell’s Kitchen to a 5th floor walk up with super skinny stairway. Your guys had the best attitude, so nice, so professional...I couldn’t have been more happy.

Thanks again, and thank you guys for the amazing service.

We love our customers and they love us back..

I just want to say how much I appreciated the hard work of your movers during my move on Monday. They were all so congenial and professional. It was a ghastly hot/humid day and they had several flights of narrow steps at the pickup site to deal with and, yet, no complaints! Even though it was a small studio, I had a LOT of stuff to be packed and I can't tell you what an enormous relief it was to have them take this burden off of my shoulders.

Again, thanks.

We know we are the best- What do you think?

Just wanted to say "Thanks" for a great move on August 16th. The team of movers was very good. They showed up on time - even a little early - and were courteous, professional, quick, and also careful with our belongings. This has been the best move we've had in NYC and we will definitely recommend you to everyone we know who is need of moving services.

Thanks again,
Lance and Kandra

I’ve used your company three times in three years and each time I was really impressed by your crew and their professionalism. It’s a harrowing experience to have to move and to see all your belongings loaded on to a truck, wondering if it’s going to make it all in one piece.
The job was a tough one: I had heavy plants and there were a zillion stairs. But these guys were so hard-working and never complained. The foreman was super and kept the job going at a great pace and was really helpful packing up delicate and last-minute stuff.

I hope I don’t have to move again for a very long time. But if I do, I’ll be sure to call you again.
Thanks, Mara
